We assisted AWMS with organizational strategy, business development, creating new project opportunities through the development of strategic partnerships, and "putting the subsidiary on a stronger business footing". The project resulted in a significant increase in business activity from the Romanian subsidiary, joint-achievement of an exclusive certification ensuring a strong market position, and streamlined organizational processes.

We assisted the company in evaluating their current position in an environment of significantly increasing competitiveness. We worked with the executive team to choose their preferred market position, to evaluate current and future required capabilities, and to draft and support a plan to achieve the desired state.

Undisclosed Private Holding Company – Los Angeles, California & Bucharest, Romania

SOPOLEC is assisting a client in identifying, purchasing and integrating into a common platform, numerous small operations in Romania (the exact activity cannot be disclosed). The project involves creating a repeatable system to ensure that each entity that is “rolled up” into the new holding company receives due diligence, implementation of shared practices, and reduces redundant costs. The project also included assistance with selecting and supporting local and international key executives.

Undisclosed local branch of a Multinational Corporation – Bucharest, Romania

SOPOLEC is currently assisting a large multinational company in accessing European Union funding for promotion of development areas relevant to its expansion plans. The strategy involves identifying local, regional and national partners in the public authorities, non-profit organizations, and other private companies to improve the “absorption capacity” or the ability to receive EU funding for mutual benefit. This project involves a mix of strategy design, project management, expertise on the EU funding procedure, the creation of innovative awareness campaigns and other assistance with implementation.

SOPOLEC has been engaged by the U.S. Commercial Service to perform comprehensive industry and company-specific research. In addition, SOPOLEC, on behalf of USCS, assisted U.S. companies in assessing and partnering with relevant Romanian business counterparts.

Undisclosed Private Investor – Pitesti, Romania

We assisted a property owner in creating a multi-faceted plan to maximize the profit potential of a significant piece of property within the historic district of Pitesti.The Project included developing comprehensive business plans for the different business activities planned for the property and a strategy to obtain significant non-refundable government funds by incorporating objectives in line with European Union priorities (including energy efficiency improvements, historical preservation, and development for the surrounding area).

Undisclosed International Investment Banking Firm – Multiple Locations

We conducted a target company search on behalf of a prominent investment banking firm. SOPOLEC resources clarified the project objectives and approach, identified relevant sources of information, verified this information by cross-checking information, and presenting the researched results resulting in a significantly reduced effort required by the client to produce a "short list" and increased confidence in the information gathered. The research effort included using a thorough approach to find information that was not readily available and utilize it for the analysis of Romanian private companies.

We introduced the company to eco-efficiency products and building concepts to incorporate them into the development plans of a large and modern residential complex benefiting from financial incentives for energy efficiency and reduced operating costs. The project includes identifying and negotiating with new vendors; often implementing their products for the first time in Romania. The return on investment was considerable and immediate as the client obtained significant non-reimbursable European Union funding for implementing an energy-efficient solution for the residential complex. We are currently assisting the company to use “lifestyle marketing” to create a new and unique offering on the apartment market for health living with the intention to receive increased sales prices for the apartment units.

Undisclosed Large Food Products Company – Bucharest, Romania

We assisted the company in developing a technology strategy to implement new systems to integrate its current disparate systems into a single system resulting in better business intelligence, improved financial reporting, Customer Relationship Management, and a mobile solution to enhance the productivity of its significant delivery operations. The project included strategic and detailed planning, vendor selection, implementation assistance, testing, and post-project support.
